meaning that if you have an ounce or less it will be
confiscated and thats is.
more than an once gets "intent to sell"

does anybody live in colorado who happened to see those
commercials where they say that decriminalizing pot will
lead to less domestic violence? wtf? that is a logical
fallacy if i ever saw one.

I made a mistake, they were billboards, not television
slots. And they were put up by a group that calls
themselves "Safer Alternative for Enjoyable Recreation."
And I guess they took them down anyway because everyone
thought they were stupid.

well, that pot - alcohol point is quite true i would say.
but maybe pot can make some people more violent as well,
although i've never heard of it..but yes, they should either
delegalize alcohol or legalize pot!

offline mimi on 2005-10-31 21:07 [#01766686]
Points: 5721 Status: Regular | Followup to tolstoyed: #01766681

Well, I guess I find it hard to believe that people are
gettin crunk because weed is illegal. I think the most
important point is towards the bottom of the article. It's
bullshit to blame alcohol or marijuana for domestic violence
alone, it goes deeper than that.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2005-10-31 21:12 [#01766688]
Points: 14210 Status: Regular | Followup to mimi: #01766686

i think a certain percentage of people do try drugs because
it is illegal. the more you dangle something potentially
pleasureable in front of someone and say, "oh you can never
ever have this" the more likely they are to want to try it.
it's just human nature.

offline mimi on 2005-10-31 21:20 [#01766690]
Points: 5721 Status: Regular | Followup to tolstoyed: #01766681

That's not really what I'm talking about though. I'm just
saying that I don't think people will stop drinking if
marijuana became legal.

The logic of these "Safer Alternative" people seems faulty
to me. I just think it's shortsighted to say that the
reason that Billy Bob is going to slug his wife is because
he had to pick legally buying a 12 pack of Heinekan over
buying marijuana illegally.
