Anyone seen "The Island"?

my god is that film underrated. just watched it last night.
the action scenes blew me away. some bits made me cringe
they were so unrealistic but still it was fucking quality!

torrentspy.com

taffmonster, it's not at all The Prisoner or Gilligans
Island. It's a retelling of The Tempest.

dont know the tempest but if it involves heaven or hell YOUR
WRONG! heheh
i dont think its the same story as the prisoner but its very
similar style wise. least i think so

Much like your spelling is wrong.
The Tempest has nothing to do with Heaven or Hell. You're
english yeah?

It's not at all similar story wise to The Prisoner. The
Prisoner was set in a village where it was impossible to
tell who was prisoner and who was warden most of the time.
Number 6 was there because he resigned from his job and they
wanted to know why. Rumpole of the Bailey couldn't crack
him.

indeed though i sometimes wish i was foriegn to excuse my
POOR POOR typing, and it is typing more than spelling.

tempest really rings a bell but i ahve to admit to being
shit at litrature as im too fussy about my reading

i meant it was more similar in terms of style not specifics.
the annoyance of not knowing where the island is (it still
wasnt clear after the last episode). The crazy technology
akin with sci fi films, the constant underlying taunting of
whos beind it all. i dunno for me they just feel very
similar in just the feel when you watch them. im a big
prisoner fan

I don't know mate. But it looks similar to those other smoke
things hanging around. There's shit loads in that scene. I
watched it again the other day. You wouldn't notice them

Have you seen all the teaser sites ABC have around?

a buddy of mine, who loves this show, is convinced that the
whole idea is this:

When the plane went down in season 1, EVERYONE actually died
and each episode is a story of them in some version of.
HELL. Where reality is a bit obscured and they are all
actually dead, but do not know it and are living in thier
own hell.

I have never seen the show, but I was intereted by his
assumptions.
Could it be?

its highly worng, my theory is that its actually a new eden
designed to give them meaning. Heaven in a sense of trail
and struggle bringing happiness. like you cant be happy

stupid religious topics.....
I mean they could be stuck on the island of a mad scientist

couldn't it be that the show's creators never really had it
planned that far, but just threw in a lot of confusing
signals/events that make the whole thing
interesting/suspensful on a very direct but shallow level
and then later on they'll maybe try and figure out
some kind of structure and whatever they can think up will
never compare to people's expectations?

i got mine for 35 quid off play.com :)

qter: they planned the main plot out in advanced its only
sub plots and smaller stuff they are improvising, the big
stuff is allready laid in stone. I had same worry and i do
admit of all the programmes ive enjoyed watching LOST has
the biggest potential to become REALLY shit REALLY quick,
however it ahsnt let me down so far, so i give it my full
faith. The plot so far is so thick and suspensful its
unbeleievable

it so doesnt theres lots of resolution and if you remember
the plot is also driven by the characters who each in turn
become in depth (there are alot of them) through each
episode and each character relates to the specific show and
to facts about the island. There are alot fo clues there for
example if you go back and watch old episodes form season
one knowing what you know now in season 2 you will spot ALOT
of significant things, things id like to use as examples but
cant incase of spoilers :S
