totally pointless post but i thought this was a weird way of advertising. Timeout magazine today launches their new look magazine and are paying around 100 people £5 an hour to sit in packs on the tube and read it. every line has been covered and they'll be out at peak times to make it every more effective. The plan is that people sitting among these readers will think "shit must be a good magazine! everyones reading it i'd better buy it this second!". i'm not saying don't buy it - i swear by it to plan my weekends but don't be fooled by clever(?) advertising!

Spasmsixtynine: Isn't your Avatar "Budd Christ" from Dogma?
I think advertising is pretty lame and usually make a concerted effort not to be influenced by it.

Has anyone seen the awful film Mac & Me? It's basically a protracted advertisement for McDonald's and Coca-Cola.

I'm probably gonna be going into Marketing as a profession myself, so I think it's kinda cool... controlling your advertising based on what the customer want and all that... I like it...

I as an architect feel so jealous of advertisement designers...they have the power to make a product more buy-able...i want that ability
