hey, sorry i missed this

best thing to come out to date is giant panda "fly school
reunion" - its super sweet in terms of throw-back-ness - one
guy does a quasi cover of a tribe called quest

i would avoid the new blackalicious as it is SUPER lame, the
newer pigeon john has its moments, the newest awol one EP is
super duper (as all of his stuff is), beat konducta by
madlib is good if your stoned, they just rereleased zimbabwe
legit (get in like you heard it when it came out)

other than that i listen to old school as it is more
reliable in terms of quality - lately its been naughty by
nature, big daddy kane, ultramagnetic mcs, mantronix, dj
jazzy jeff and will smith

mid school gems such as heltah skeltah, casual,
funkdoobiest, ill al skratch, leaders of the new school
"time" LP, too short...and...well thats it as of late

my avatar is a starving african child...he rules everything
around him !!!

hope that helps -!-

thx, I think the best think to do for me is to check Awol
One ! (haven't heard anything by him so far)

I heard some Jazzy Jeff cuz he released a jazzy house
compilation not long ago, and I love the ultramagnetic MCs
and Kool Keith (not all his stuff though)

Lately I've heard the new Edan, which is good but not THAT
good imo, and I love the Lord Quas. What do u think of them
?

awol one's speakerface and self titled albums will change
your life (and im not being overly dramatic)

jazzy jeff is old school and he is a philly native (where i
currently reside) - kool keith is great is small doses, his
sex styles album is great...

edan is weird - he has a couple of AMAZING tracks but the
others are sorta...filler i guess is how i would describe
them...who knows - i had lord quas somewhere and i cant seem
to find that...i was anxious to hear it, and POOF - i hate
the new dangerdoom cd...its terrible

(im in the process of moving apartments so my music and
stuff is all over the place)

do yourself a favor and grab some awol one stuff, start with
the two aforementioned...if youve never heard it i consider
aceyalone's "a book of human language" to be the best hip
hop album of all time - busdriver's "fear of a black
tangent" was my pick for best album of this year (indie
anyways) - alias & ehren's "lillian" is beautiful - doubt
you can get much of their stuff but sacred hoop are
amazing...

i could go on for years...

bit of warning...awol one has a very unconventional style
and at first you may not like it...i encourage you to listen
closer and be patient though...the rewards are better than
waiting for a hot girl to go down on you

zing!

sweet..enjoi speakerface...eye am is a sweet jam beyond
compare

my brother prefers all balls...funny...i just love the idea
of a concept album that doesnt suck and is really good
actually...

hills...

and so on...

get some Non Phixion if you want to hear some rappers that
would probably shoot your grandma.

kool keith puts out alot of stuff, check into his history
and aliases and decide which you like best. he was also a
member of ultramagnetic mc's, whose first album came out in
'86 and is lends itself to the rap world because as this
website says:

"It was really the first record to ever feature such an
outworldly and complex approach to rhyming, with Kool Keith
being largely responsible for this new style of rap.
It featured what was to be some of the most innovative
production ever heard, thanks to Ultra member, Ced-Gee -
probably one of the most underrated and least talked about
producers in hip-hop music. NOTE: he was not only the man
behind a very good chunk of Ultra's best material but also
played a very big role in the production of BDP's "Criminal
Minded", another classic hip-hop album.
Most importantly, it introduced us to the Ultramagnetic
MC's, one of the craziest, strangest, wildest, and most
brilliant hip-hop groups EVER. "

non phixion is garbage...in my humble opinion

kool keith releases album every 4 months cause he spends all
his royalties in minutes...have you ever heard his
freestyles? they are f*&king great...he gives up on rhymes
and just starts counting...one time i heard him get up past
100...hahaha
