BOC vs. Aphex

MHTRTC owns Geogaddi, sorry but Music Has the Right takes me
to another world with every track. Geogaddi is
great, but only a few tracks do to me what music has the
right did.

Oh, and comparing AFX and BoC is silly, once the hype dies
down this won't even be a topic.

Fuck it, I compare everything. Makes me think about both
sides. I compare every artist I've ever heard, any genre.
It's fun.

BACK...

it's not supposed to be a competition, they're both
electronic artists on the same lable, and it's an
interesting topic.

I know, I was just trying to say it's interesting to see
peoples different opinions on music, like in this thread

no no I have no problem comparing, I just think that people
are a little hyped up right now from all the BoC talk. I
think when the smoke clears noone would even question
Aphex's technical and artistic superiority except the die
hard fans like you taoist. (I know artistic superiority
sounds a tad odd) BoC may have a few merits to their sounds
which RDJ does not, but to me, this is a non-issue.

Sure, its just a matter of opinion. Obviously. Its fun to
say why you prefer one or the other, its not worth raising
ones heart rate over (im not implying that you are, Xanatos)

I also agree with Xantos....

I myself, do not think BOC is even on the SAME level as
RDJ....

Richard is the Great OZ compared to BOC's Dorthy....

I just love BOC more....and more...and more.....

I get what you're saying IronLung but: OZ was a big fraud
and the world was created by Dorthy : )

hmmm, Aphex Twin has the technical skill... he can program
those amazing beats... and yes, he has an amazing sense of
melody... so in that sense he gets my vote as being better
then BoC... but as far as music touching the inner depths of
my soul, well BoC wins out... their music is just so
gorgeous...

I listened to MHTRTC and Geogaddi today back to back, and
it's hard for me to choose a better one... now I'm
downloading and listening to ABPOITC, and I was listening to
some of Hi Scores... and it's all freaking gorgeous... not a
dull track, except maybe Sixtyten... MAYBE... but it is my
least favorite BoC song... Anyways, these guys are
awesome!!!!!

BoC is very good but not as varied as AFX... BoC is always
soothing music, and they do it very well, but AFX can do
that too, a different way (SAW II, On...) along much more
other things...

well I think Boards of Canada are the best thing ever...
their music amazes me!!! And, I listened to Geogaddi a lot
the last few days, and even now after taking a break from
the mad listening of when it came out, and after all the
hype, I still think it's fucking amazing!!! I love APhex
Twin, and Autechre, and think they are both amazing at what
they do, but what Boards of Canada do well I just love to
death... I own three of their releases, and have heard two
other, and nothing I have heard yet has given me a reason to
dislike Boards of Canada... quite the opposite actually...
so yeah, Boards of Canada rule all!!! :)

boards of canada and aphex twin are mad different. it
depends on what you like. i like both, i probably like aphex
more, considering my music library, but thats also because
aphex has been doing shit all the time for longer than boc.
i would love to see them some how do a colaboration, but i
think it would be more of a battle than a team effort. i'll
keep dreaming though. or maybe i'll make my own. hey, thats
not a bad idea. maybe i'll start workingon that

pathetic waste of time!

i agree with xanatos and... well, whoever said this before:
they're not even on the same level
afx is far superior imo

they're both EXCELLENT, and boc is very emotion-provoking

but afx can do so much more
everything boc can do and much, much more on top of that

i love em both though, dont get me wrong

i guess sometimes i feel like boc are trying to make you
feel nostalga, and sometimes i feel like aphex is just
trying to make you get a head ache :/

the strange thing is, the nostalgia part of Boards of
Canada's music isn't what makes me listen... Hardly any of
their songs make me feel nostalgic (The Beach at Redpoint
does!!), but I love them because they make beautiful music,
and it's just very emotional music for me...
