I visited my father this evening and he gave two cameras, a
Kodak Instamatic 56x and a Kodak Instamatic 230. Both are
fully functional and produced sometimes in the seventies I
think.

Anyone have any information on them that I might find
useful?

ps. He asked me to burn him a copy the campfire headphase
and said he would buy me a Moog modular in return, if he won
the lottery.

Wish my dad was that cool.

is it still possible to buy film for an old instamatic
camera? I have one up in my loft but always presumed it
would either never work or I wouldn't be able to find any
rolls of film suitable for it..

Hehe, he used to be a musician back in the 60/70/80's. Only
on a hobbybasis nowadays although he's currently rebuilding
a studio/musicroom in his cellar, wherein he only allows
tape and vinyl based music.

i hate when people say they are going to buy stuff when
they win in the lottery.
"lotteries are extra tax for
the stupid."

We used to have an Kodak Instamatic camera when I was
younger, until I demolished it.
They use special film cartridges instead of the usual 35 mm
film rolls. Obtaining such cartridges today will propably be
very difficult.

damn i still need to buy a camera myself, but digital
cameras are so expensive, and i don't know how to develop
film. oh, and disposable cameras ALWAYS take shitty
pictures. i think its a rule.

Haha, I will use that phrase next time I see my mother
buying a ticket. Nicely put. Though it would be nice to win
and not care about anything in life anymore.

fyi you dont need to know how to develop film to get pics.
thats what 1 hour photos are for.

altho if u want ur pics to not look like crap, developing
film is a real fun hobby once you get into it.
