hello.

ive noticed lately that many of you people dont like the
musical terms.

IDM for example.

ive seen many posts about how overrated and bad that term
is.
since music is all about listening, and not adding stickers
to what has been labeled before, i shall say that IDM, as a
name, stands for its value. the same goes for variety of
names, like Minimal, Trance,Hip Hop,Experimental, etc. the
only one term that i must exclude form te list of
"yeah-let-it-be" would be Glitch, as it was created as a
remark of what - autechre track i guess ? anyway.

since we have those few shelfs for our music, i would
propose just letting go the names issue - theres really no
point of saying that name is overrated or is not. its just a
name. plu sthe fact that IDM ,as a Intelligent Dance Music
(correct me if im wrong) has many faces, good ones and bad
ones, such as every bit of our life,so simply not passing by
this little piece of everything could cause serious traumas
and could start an aversion to music as a final effect. isnt
that true ?

your opinions please, most likely with serious
thoughts/arguments on that issue.

thanks.

God damn, as broadly correct as you may be, who calls
themselves "Intelligent" ? What self deceiving, presumptuos,
pretentious, lofty, precious, delusions of superiority scene
would label itself "intelligent"... oh, right, IDM.

is this thing happening to all new members and their threads
in here ( for sake of newbies beeing ignored before they
will become more "valuable" )or is it just the topic which
is too boring for a music-related board ?

aside from them not being very intelligent, is there
something wrong with calling oneself intelligent? it's what
we all think about ourselves anyway.. each and every one of
us.

well, the thing is this was discussed lots in the past and
everytime someone new starts a topic about it, it ends this
way. most people here agree idm is a stupid term and usually
don't use it. although we all use it sometimes..

talking intelligent in terms of people is one thing but
becomes something else when it comes to music :)

well, it's been discussed greatly (unfortunatelly search
function doesn't work atm) but we always eneded up saying
it's a stupid name. we use idm sometimes although we don't
think of what it stands for. apperantly it's a term record
dealers came up with, because they didn't know under what
genre to put these records.
musicians don't use it, nor fans it seems.
