thats actually really interesting.

the whole idea of whale falls being food source to a host of

i know this. i am watching the tv monitors and using a
joystick or powerglove to control the robots in the rotting
whale's esophagus. it's not like i'm down there in the
whale - i have robots to do the dirty work! then i would
analyse the computer data on an apple ii or c64 (whatever we
have in the submarine) and find out... uh, if it's really a
whale or something.

funny how people say "save the whales," because this article
says their death is an excellent nutrient ground of many
organisms. but then again, that's just the ecosystem
