i've read an interview of someone in the disc industry who said that in the future, music won't have any format : neither cd nor vinyl (or whatever) : it will be all mp3 or something like that but not even lossless because people are happy with poor quality, so everything could be mp3 128 kbps and everybody will love that

Formats will evolve with time, yet I'll always enjoy the medium of discs/vinyl. :] I received this post from a user outside of the states and thought it might humor/evoke some chatter.
In regards to Arizona, yes, it's mainly conservative. (I'm glad that this particular county deemed otherwise, not that it made a difference. I take it, (mappatazee) you've been to Arizona? This feedback is entertaining, as exepcted.) ;]

I just thought I heard recently that they had the worst test scores. Maybe I was mistaken because I can't remember if I read it or heard it or where it was.

True. The current reports concede that the scores of (high school) students are the lowest, supposedly due to the current test methods.
(obligatory post: I love records.) ;]

public education is just done wrong, it's as simple as that. teachers aren't even awarded/promoted on ability or merit, just length of time they've worked as a teacher (tenure) and number of degrees they possess. there's your first huge problem. i'll leave the rest unsaid since i'm drunk

vinyl is phat :)
as for public education, thats fucked aswell, it so badly administrated. 90% of teachers i have are total losers that are so stressed out because they dont know how to teach, that they just end up threatening with saturday morning detentions.

i think there will always be SOMEONE making vinyl, whether its underground in their basement with a wax cutter or at an actual record manufacturing facility. music is still making money right now, just in different places. rock isn't selling much anymorerap and country cds are still selling in the US, perhaps due to the fact that most of the people who buy these albums don't really use computers as often. i'm sure vinyls are still doing well in europe and asia, where the electronic music scene and radio airplay has not yet been tarnished by poor legislation. i think vinyl is sort of dying where i'm at, mainly because of how the electronic scene here has crumbled since the RAVE act, which is why i'm starting a band and not focusing on electronic music right now. as long as someone makes money off vinyl, it will still be around. :)
