""Tang" is a good name because it's chinese, but it's also a
juice."

-Larry David

(not a direct quote)

it's a good name if you want your son's name to translate to
"Sugar."

As for Phillip, it is a nice name but I know too many of
them!

Basquiat*

offline 010101 from Vancouver (Canada) on 2005-10-20 13:47 [#01755555]
Points: 7669 Status: Regular

I like the idea of naming him after someone my wife and I
admire and although Basquiat was cool it sounds a bit too
much like Basket.

We had a girl name picked out (Lillith), but sod's law being
what it is...

We came up with Malachi last night. What do you think?

offline redrum from the allman brothers band (Ireland) on 2005-10-21 09:35 [#01756513]

It's "Malachy".

Unless you want it pronounced Mala-chee.

excuse me.

i guess i'm just not exposed to jews enough or something.
malachy is much more common over here, for these reasons:

LAZY_KIKE
LAZY_PADDY

if "kike" offends anyone, jesus christ, get a life.

You should be ashamed of not going with Onion Boy. That is
GENIUS!

i love Onion Boy, its better than Curtis.
Curtis reminds me of Curtley, which is a painful name.
i'm actually pretty crap at names... um.. nah sorry : )

Malachi has been rejected, someone told my wife about the
Children of the Corn reference.

Now it is a choice between:
Isaac James &
Curtis James

Is it too late to second ZORBOID DESTROYER OF WORLDS?

yeah, I guess the politics on a name choice like that would
be pretty tricky... Thanks for trying to convince the
missus, it would be a shame to name him something like Onion
Boy and never really know if his name could have been
ZORBOID DESTROYER OF WORLDS.

Curtis James it is!

I tried for ZORBOID THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS but the birth
certificate people wouldn't allow all uppercase, and it
doesn't have the same ring to it without it.

He can be Curtis James for the bureaucracy, but no one can
forbid you calling him ZORBOID THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS at
home. And don't allow any abbreviations or diminutives,
especially not Zorby.
