*failing to see if tridenti is being sarcastic or has
actually heard the track and likes it*

S M ;i wish i was that good at writing notes / note
progressions and stuff

offline S M Pennyworth from East Timor on 2005-10-18 13:54 [#01753798]
Points: 2196 Status: Lurker

well i can't write notes for shit, i try out the tone
combinations on my computer keyboard and then arrange them
on the patterns.
but i'd be great to be able to write down killer tracks
without hearing any actual music, like that deaf guy, mozart
or beethoven.??

i've converted yulquen to sausage and fed it to my dog,
should have the remix later today.

can it be samples from a few ep7 tracks ? or has it to be a
remix of ONE track ?

should be ok you know?

What's the tracklist so far ? Could you post ep7 tracklist
with names of people who already signed/sent tracks ?
thanks.

uh so far i am remixing rpeg, and sm pennyworth has done a
liccflii rmx. staz is doing left-blank., swift jams is doing
rpeg, dunno wh else.

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2005-10-20 15:21 [#01755688]

i'm remixing yulquen, in accordance with the rules, which
seemed to state that any remix of ae would be considered if
i recall correctly, but said remix may not be included if
there are enough ep7 mixes to fill the bill. i don't really
care if it gets included (i didn't get credit for the last
track i did that was included on the comp), it's just a
reason to put yulquen in the microwave to watch until it
melts and catches fire.

so put me down on that list.

offline obara from Utrecht on 2005-10-20 15:28 [#01755695]
Points: 19377 Status: Regular | Followup to plaidzebra: #01755688

did you do "pule" once ? i still keep that one. it's good.

hey, don't rebel, do an ep7 one !

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2005-10-20 16:41 [#01755796]
Points: 11920 Status: Regular | Followup to plaidzebra: #01755688

it'll be included man! :)

and yeah i agree theres too many songs in AERMX2003, many
from people who arent real xlt regulars either so, this is
kinda that same thing again but focus on ep7 and its just
xlt homeboys/regulars

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2005-10-21 07:05 [#01756266]
Points: 5678 Status: Lurker | Followup to obara: #01755695

i did remix pule. glad to hear there's a bright side to my
legacy of shame. kind of funny to imagine ae listening to
all of those remixes. i also made a remix of gantz graf,
which was pretty awful if i recall.

i just can't think of a track to remix from ep7. haven't
listened to it in awhile, i've been in an amber state of
mind. plus, i think yulquen makes a great halloween theme,
although i have diffused it into a cloud of dusty crystals.

i hope to get around to a remix. i love this idea. ep7 is
so elusive to me, in a wonderful manner.

howz everyones remixes coming along

beats are sounding quite juicy over here. some samples from
akira and skee-low have somehow crawled up into it

offline Dozer on 2005-10-26 17:28 [#01762079]

Hey Cygnus, if I remix rpeg. too, will you consider your
remix better than mine? ^^

of course not. since not many ppl are doing rmxs i mean
theyll all likely end up on the final mix man

of my mix. Well, I still have a month, I hope to be happy
with my track before December 1st :)

I think I got something now. Just need a few days to tweak a
few bits and it should be on it's way.

offline vlari from beyond the valley of the LOLs on 2005-10-31 07:54 [#01765907]

Is a 7min remix a bit excessive?

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2005-10-31 10:45 [#01766095]
Points: 5678 Status: Lurker

yes, what is the limit for length? i'm going to be doing a
final mix soon and my track needs to be long. but i'll do a
version to conform to whatever limits are imposed. what's
the longest a track can be?

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2005-10-31 11:32 [#01766158]
Points: 11920 Status: Regular

its an mp3 release so theres really no reason for any limit
on length. dont worry about that

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2005-10-31 11:33 [#01766161]

skink no ones said they were rmxing maphive

Great. No 7" edits then :)

Oh, and it seems that I have made two remixes. Hope it's
allright. The victims of my mangling are Squeller and the
hidden pregap thingie.

I am working on a remix of sorts. This album is more
difficult than I expected, because most of its in mono, and
the sounds are layered so densely... :(

Sonic foundry wave hammer is a good compressor/normalizer
for mastering multiple tracks to sound consistent. Waves
renaisance compressor is good [of course, its waves :)]. I
also really like the kjaerhus series of effects. You can
download the classic compressor and classic limiter
here. The gold series is also available as a free
download, but at the kjaerhouse homepage they will ask you
to pay for it. You have to be creative to find it free ;)

got my hands on a compressor and yes indeed it does make
stuff sound very phat...

i am shocked by the difference in sound. i hope this is not
what seperates amateur from pro audio!

i'm 90% done with my remix, it's proved very time consuming.
i'll have it done before the deadline, and it's going to be
in the neighborhood of 8-9 minutes i think so save some
space!
