It seems there will be a new release by rich on rephlex,
but do someone know something about it? When? What? etc...
It'll be great if he releases a lp of more complicated piano
works because whenever i hear those on drukqs i can think of
many new ways they could evolve...

They're deliberately minimilist...

but I know what you mean

Personally, I can do without em, aside from avril

Woofer's premonition was good... I hope it comes true... I
have high hopes for his next release, whatever label it's
on... I have a good feeling.

since I read about it on "the other site" :)

But there hasn't been anything! We need news now! Please,
somebody? Anything at all...

1969 would be sweet :)

I can not WAIT for new Aphex... I just know his next album
is going to be much better than Drukqs. Hopefully silence
his critics that think (wrongly) that Richard is losing his
touch.

Is the caustic window album different to the caustic window
compilation then?

offline Resident Evil from heat some coffee, mmm, mmm (Australia) on 2002-03-12 17:48 [#00123038]

I do believe that the caustic window album is totally
different from compilation.

Compilation being a compilation of the Joyrex eps and the CW
album being all new material.

i think it'd be cool if he mixed some beats with those crazy
piano tracks.
that would rock.
that would rock out.

i hope this new release rocks.

i liked drukqs...........im sure whatever he puts out will
be perfect.....except if he gets into rap or country....or
if he becomes a boy band.........

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if he had the piano tracks mixed with
good electronic beats like in IZ-US, but I think the plain
piano tracks are just dull

wouldnt it be very richard like to release something that
let all of our hopes down? not that he doesnt like his fans
but hes expected to release something like the last one. so
im sure hes not going to release something like the last
one.
hes never been predictable before has he?

with analogue bubblebaths he was pretty predictable.

but he wasnt expected to be predictable! :D he was expected
to do something totally off the wall. sometimes the
craziest thing you can do is very simple.

if it's on the MEN label, richard says that's a label just
for stuff by him and tom... so maybe a collaborative album?

sorry everyone....i just want some new Aphex Acid.

BTW: Is he still going to use "Aphex Twin", or "AFX" ?

itll have to be AFX or FAX, both names are restricted to
warp and rephlex (thats the men release)

No news...perhaps it will be the oft-rumoured "analogue 'bar
1'" release... or something totally new and different.

Or perhaps he's changed his mind...time will tell.

joyrex is out of the loop w/ richard, maybe we should hound
grant at info@rephlex.com with pointless inquiries? or maybe
we should just storm their office in england and take all
the tapes and cd-r's we see lying around. they listen to
unreleased music all day long at rephlex and warp.

anyway it's not gonna be on MEN, it's been confirmed for
rephlex.. i think the name "aphex twin" is still property of
sire records (what kind of fucking contract...?); either
they own it indefinitely (it must be bought back) or they
are owed one other album before foregoing rights to the
name. so if he doesn't put out a cheesy release on sire
before the rephlex release, the next album (or ep) will be
by afx..

Actually I just made that shit up like most of the crap on
here.

I heard he will release something in June... No that's a lie
also. It's July maybe. But as AFX? I think that's June. He
was working under the name Rednex for a while I was told, I
think.

If his live sets post-drukQs are any indication of his
direction, look for "mental yet accessible" (dance floor
friendly) and, as always, well-produced drum 'n' bass! A
Warp artist who has heard some of his new studio music says
it has "nothing to do with" cutting-edge DSP "trickery" (as
heard on his last album and Squarepusher's Go Plastic). The
next album may feature piano-based pieces more advanced than
those on drukQs. He may release a new EP or album on "MEN"
Records (his mini-label which released 2 Remixes By AFX in
2001), perhaps with a new Chris Cunningham video (Richard
himself said in a 2001 interview that he would have another
video out directed by Chris sometime soon). Some people also
believe a DVD is in the works.
This is all I know.
