I'm at my mum's and I had a couple of torrents I wanted to
finish getting - but they all of a sudden won't start.
Nothing happens when I press the START option... I even
re-downloaded one of them and now it's just stuck on PAUSE.
Any suggestions about why this happened? I know they have
upgraded their package, since they have a router now,
instead of a modem -- don't know if that's had any effect --
help would be great, because I'm at 93% on one of them and
it's fucking frustrating.

two options :
1) seeder stopped seeding-check ( if its possible is theres
any seed, if no, its lost )

2) new net connection blocked somehow torrent downloading,
its possible since its quite ciomplicated with all of these
hashes, peers, seeds and yada yada yada

3) change client and try to put the file there, see what
happens

4) see whats going on with tracker - check the site youre
downloading from for any FAQ info /news / forums

oh, thas 4options, not 2. well, better for you :)

I redownloaded one of them to make sure it was still being
seeded, and it is, so that's not the problem.. it's not even
checking when I press START.

Redirect your BitLord port on the router to your computer,
if you haven't done it yet. Don't choose one from the common
6881-6889 range (don't trust me on these bounds). I often
chose something like 20000.

It's OK, I've sorted it - my stepfather is VERY petty and
morose - the log-in name I use has no Admin access at all -
seems to feel that me or my brother will download either
virus-infected software or something fuck things up.
Apparently this rubbed off on Bitlord and affected it. I
used the F5 / safe mode trick to get Admin control and now
it's working fine.

My brother and I have always noticed how funny it is that
the computer only ever fucks up when the Stepfather does
things to it, yet we always got the blame.
