melancholic soft rock music with synths and lately lots of
electronica elements...this is merely an example there's a
lot more that fits in here i suppose.

I don't know about that - most post rock I've heard tends to
use jazzier chords and more complex song ideas. TCH only has
rudimentary melodic ideas and guitar-noodling. They're no
Tortoise or Sea and Cake, that's for sure.

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2005-10-07 10:13 [#01743572]

Though it's similar in some ways to The Album Leaf which is
post rock I guess.

I don't like post rock actually ! Maybe I've not listened to
the good bands, but I dislike bands like Mogwai, Godspeed or
even MBV. But I'm sure I'll love TCH ! =)

the point i was trying to make is that there are other just
as good albums as this one, but most people on this mb
aren't interested in those because they're either not
interested in anything non electronic, their lack of
interest or just simply because they think boc with all
their mysteries are something out of this world.

not really.

perhaps Goran's point is more that there have been numerous
albums made in the style of the Headfire Whatsitsface and
quite a few of those are also much better.

it's a bit like someone who has never heard a good jazz
album hearing Jamie Cullum for the first time and then
thinking Cullum is the cat's pyjamas, jazzwise.

..but does that mean one shouldn't listen to campfire
headphase? just because there are other albums of the same
or better quality out there?

so basically he's saying that if my taste in music were more
diverse and worldly, I would realize that this BOC album was
not really as good as I think it is?

Well, that's Total Bullshit and a very weak point.

no, i don't think it's total bullshit. it's like special
effects on TV, once you've experrienced effects that arre
betterr than all otherr effects, it's harrd to continue
enjoying the old ones.

not really, but you don't see 140 topics getting opened for
just as good albums, do you? im just saying that there's a
lot more good music just like this but no one notices it
because they're just not as hyped as good old boc. or
something.

There's Kiefer Sutherland...
