..is an awesome album!

samples

it's mostly piano focused jazz. it's on thirsty ear, and is
a part of the blue series (if you've heard that El-p jazz
album, it's in this series too, and shipp is on that as
well). There are some nice funky parts to it and other not
so funky parts that still are nice.. I recommend that you,
at least, check out the samples, and hopefully you will find
some new music that you may or may not enjoy.

lately I've been having trouble finding music that I do not
enjoy, I will look into this Matthew Shipp, hopefully this
album will make me cry its so bad
According to one review on amazon if I am "looking for a new
approach to the combination of jazz and electronica" then I
"will be disappointed."

Seriously though I read a bunch of reviews and it does seem
like its deserves a listen. Does one guy do all the
electronic stuff on the album? Someone who isn't ship?

heh.. it's not bad in my opinion (and I stopped trusting
reviews (except for one single movie-reviewer here in norway
(PÃ¥l Bang-Hansen)) a long time ago.. though, they are
right: if you're looking for a new approach to the
combination of jazz and electronica you will be
disappointed.. it's great music, though).

The guy who does the electronics is called "FLAM" (yes, in
capital letters). I have no idea who he is, but he does a
nice enough job.

The full lineup is:
Matthew Shipp - Piano
William Parker - Bass
Gerald Cleaver - Drums
Khan Jamal - Vibes
FLAM - Synths + Programming

No I don't share Emusic files. They're the only good digital
music service on the internet and I won't pee in their
mouths.

oh, I was thinking if you wanted to get it off me...

it's better to do it in some way that supports the artist,
though, so you should get it there.. or get the cd itself.
