[sponsored] non IDM Week

I guess there hasn't been a week in my life, since...ohhh
1992, maybe... that I haven't listened to at least a snippet
of electronica/IDM/artsy fartsy music. And, for all that ear
time, am I happy? I don't know. But I'm going to find out by
NOT LISTENING to anything that could be remotely called
IDM/Electronica/Artificial Intelligence/Art Kore or, you
know, whatever, FOR A WEEK. I've just spent the last 20 odd
mins listening to Belle & Sebastian (I know!) and I'm going
to carry on with ... next.. what, oh god I've got so much
IDM... no, no there's Bowie CD, Bowie then. I'm looking to
Virginpusher for spiritual guidance as I know he's as likely
to listen to IDM as stick a fork in his dick, and maybe
other guys here that can help ME get through the next 7 DAYS
by suggesting NON-IDM to listen to, or just providing
support. I'm fine, I've got months of listening that comes
under that bracket, but, you know, I thought, make it
interactive.. make it a competition even, I don't know.

sort of rock, but produced by the artsy fartsy sound guru
Helge Steen (deathprod)

I would also recommend Cornelius Cardew as far as those
crazy piano guys go! Good experimental stuff.

I like alot of blues/jazz but i really only know the generic
stuff

dizzy galetsby (sp?)
cab calloway
louie armstrong
thelonious monk
charles mingus

once again my memory has stopped. sorry dan. :/

Perhaps some searches based off of these guys in slsk could
lead to jazz folders. I am wanting to build my collection
back up

some Morphine could also work a treat.

I might have something for you, two guitarry albums by Rude
Trouvé, who used to be a guitarist for dEUS. there's some
excellent stuff on there - BUT also a slight bit of
electronica, but used in a quaint, unwieldly way.
