hehehe, it's funny you mention petshop boys. my dad is into
them and I grew up listening to them on roadtrips and shit.
Definately my first experience with any sort of electronic
music.

my 1st love of music was when i was 5 of remix of a mozart
song called excalibur by someone named nick skitz. i liked
it enuff to record onto a cassette.

from then i pretty much just listened to music i saw on tv
and heard on the radio until i was 10 and discovered
prodigy.

Green Day- Dookie. Although I don't think I really got into
it hardcore until I became a Metallica fan... music then
became a detrimental obsession.

Nirvana. Tool. Primus.

The orb got me into electronic music. Autechre got me into
IDM (although aphex twin had a hand in that too).

as I sad before it was queen

my father gave me two tapes when I was 12 years old, at that
age I only listened to shit radio formula music (some may
think queen fits that description but anyway...) the tapes
where a day at the races and the first greatest hits

I was totally amazed by that semi opera style, and
mercury´s voice (in studio)

bohemian rhapsody, I´m here, millionaire waltz, you take my
breath away, the game, another on bites the dust... they all
blew me away

and as at that time I found that to be very diferent music
to what I was used to, I since then always searched for
diferen music... always wanted something more than what
radio gave me... so not only queen was really my first music
experience but also, I think it marked my direction in
future

Black Sabbath's debut album (the one before paranoid)

it was amazing, tracks such as 'Wicked World' and 'The
Wizard' made me appreciate how inmortant instruments and the
music are rather than simply vocals.

When i was maybe three or four my dad used to play this tape
in the car by Sky? now i reckon they pretty much suck, but
at the time i used to go trip in my mind listening to these
huge soundscapes while watching the streetlights rushing
past late at night :D

Also Thriller - Michael Jackson was guaranteed to send me to
sleep everytime!?

all this talk of green day reminds me of the poster of their
singer that i had taped to the ceiling above my bed when i
was 10. there is really a lot wrong with me now that i
think about it.

I think "Hello Nasty" by the Beastie Boys really got
me into music and made me decide to buy some decks, and from
there more gear, records, etc and to start making tunes. It
was from here I really branched out and have never looked
back.

As a child I used to obsesivly listen to my Dad's vinyl,
especially Tubular Bells By Mike Oldfield x100000 times and
Out of the Blue by ELO x100000 times.

i hate to admit it with the downward turn his music has
taken, but... nine inch nails... trent reznor.

that whole nothing records thing introduced me to aphex,
autechre, squarepusher, and numerous other good stuff...
really the fundamentals of what I like today.

mine is an odd story.
i was 2, it was the moody blues "in search of the lost
chord" album. i had been given acid at a party at my house,
and i was able to listen and hear music for the first time.
it was a very intense and profound experience.

Boney M - Nightflight to Venus when I was 3 years old. Then
Michael Jackson touched me when I was 4 or 5. I've always
listened to music as much as possible.

Queen was something I listened to a lot when I was little,
mostly because my mom was a big fan. I remember scribbling
all over her very very white and pure A Night at the Opera
sleeve.

Insane Clown Posse. I've branched out a bit since then, but
I still stand by the clowns as the best rap music has to
offer.

For me it was : Daft Punk.
I still love their two first albums !
Then the Chemical Brothers then DJ Shadow, whom I consider
the most important on my way to excellent music !
