LOL Oink is a website that offers a torrent service. It is a community built mainly on invite only. It offers a number of different torrents but overall most IDM related material can be found on slsk where the share ratio isnt enforced. |

Not really... nothing really unique there that cant be found elsewhere. There are many other torrent sites that are better and plus with p2p programs you can find anything. oink is all hype. thats about it |

Yeah, I'm there. It's a nice place to be, belive me. They've got a fast tracker (that basically means v. good transfers), lots of IDM stuff, easy to find. But the ratio bullshit...blah, you should have seen their FAQ and "rules" section... (I can't give away any invites though, I'm not worthy enough) |

i got one simply by asking nicely on the chat part of the website. i will get 4 invites within two weeks, so i'll extend a couple to xlt members when i get them. please don't ask now -- i'll offer when i get them. |

but seriously......it's not THAT great. they look very exclusive, but they don't have any music you couldn't find on soulseek. OiNK has 0-day applications, which I guess is useful, but most of those are just misc. utilities you probably don't need anyways. indietorrents is the same -- the only nice thing is that people post music that they like, and it's a good way to discover stuff. but if you need to get a specific album, there's nothing there, again, that you couldn't find on soulseek. i'll check out audiofarm, tho... see if i can trade an indietorrent or oink invite for one. |

Before I joined I had thought that Oink has some advantages over Slsk. For example a guarantee that files contain no sync errors or clipping. I was thouroughly disappointed by the quality and I'm considering leaving my account to die. For now I log in once a week It's just hype, believe it. |
