Attention fellow nerds!

You know WOW is World of Warcraft, don't you? Oh you didn't
know that??? Well considering Dave Chapelle and Vin Deisel
play it, I think that makes YOU the nerd! HA!

Anyways, just wondering who the fellow xltronic players are.
Post your name(s), race, class, level and server and maybe
we can kill some bloody plaguehounds together!

Squarepusher (real original, I know) 56 Dwarf Warrior, Uldam
server.

I thought WoW is already slinking - quite a lot of people
have stopped playing.

I still play it because I don't play it for 8 hours every
single day. Uber nerds have gotten burned out on it
probably.

em, i actually thought you meant "WOW" like "wow!", as the
interjection, at first...

if you had written it "WoW" then i would have thought of
Worlds of Warcraft right away.

Used to play it for a few months on Stormrage... Level 37
Night-Elf hunter... Great fun, but I can't invest too much
time into it so it's sort of boring when everyone you know
climb higher and higher and you just sort of stagnate
because you're not as dedicated a nerd as them.

I feel you Staz. I only get to play it at my friend's house
cuz my computer is whack. So yeah, everyone i know on there
climb higher in level than I.

Loooove the Mr. Show avatar by the way. Bob is the funniest
person alive.

you play the uber nerds are always a step up from you and 3.
I would fail my degree 4. I dont care that much about
shnoblin magic anyway

I know the acronym but I've never played it and I have
absolutely no idea what the game entails or how it works.

Ophecks, you are the video game king, and even YOU don't
play WoW???? Perhaps if it were 8 or 16 bit? I know you dig
your retro gaming.

Xlr - Basically you make some weird-ass character (gnome,
human, dwarf, elf, mongoloid, etc.) and choose what he/she
looks like. You obviously start at level 1, and you kill
stuff and complete quests to gain levels, which increases
your statistics so you can kill even bigger stuff!!! Rinse,
and repeat.

The best part of the game is the in-game economy. There is
an auction house, much like ebay, where you can buy and sell
weapons and all sorts of other goodies. You want to know a
good deal when you see one, and you can turn it around and
make a profit.

So basically I think the part of mass multi-player role
playing games that sets it apart from other games is the
fact that when your character starts looking really freaking
sweeeeet, other people notice.

Hm...I always pictured it as a real time strategy game like
C&C with thousands of "warcraft" all over battlefields.
Guess I was sorely mistaken.

offline D-Steak from Kansas City, Mo. (United States) on 2005-10-03 00:50 [#01739739]

xlr - you are correct sir.

Warcraft, Warcraft II and III, ARE real time strategy games,
and rule.

World of Warcraft is based on those games and is the latest
in the Warcraft universe.

I don't know what this is all about but it sounds like D & D
for the now. And anyone who uses "u" instead of "you" is
definitely a nerd.
