very good post. I've only had 2 serious girlfriends I guess, one who was just a slut who I used to get to third base (yes, I feel like such a loser admitting that) but thankfully I dumped her before we had sex because I didn't want to lose my virginity to a slut :( the other girl I dated for almost a year and I was, and still are at times, totally in love with her. Not because she was beautiful (though that helped) but because she was someone who I could connect with on a spiritual level and it felt amazing just to be with her wherever we were-hope that's not too cliche sounding.. Sadly she thought it wasn't going to work out long-term and her "friends" appear to have buggered eveything up between us, and though we haven't fought we've just drifted apart and I haven't spoken with her for several months now. I haven't dated anyone for a long while since her because I simply haven't met any female who I connect with. Anyone can have a one night stand or pull a girl in a bar for fun but relationships are not built around that. Most of the guys I know have never had a girlfriend and I don't think it's a bad thing becuase in most cases it shows that you're waiting for the right person rather than grabbing the first girl who comes onto you simply to add another to the list of ones you've had to delude you into thinking you're a great person. It is something to be admired. |
