Analog Exodus
This is much more downtempo, and it's all hardware-based. No PC software, all live played, sometimes with multiple, separate performed tracks. This is not my usual drill-and-mess stuff. Enjoy.

...your definition of "analog" is kinda special - to you it means "hardware"? (are your digital hardware also called "analog"?)

An all analogue studio is a very big (read: cumbersome) step for somebody used to making computer baised music.

In my previous post, I mentioned that it was a big step. I forgot to add that I am pretty sure he just meant "all hardware". I wonder if that includes his sequencer. Its not much of a step from software to hardware if you are still using cubase to sequence everything. Its a very big step if you are switching from a software sequencer to a hardware one, just because hardware takes a lot longer to do data entry and editing. Although when you get the hang of it, you learn just to keep it running, play away, and edit after you are done recording.

Ok. After downloading the album - something I normally don't do because I always regret it - I opened the file and noticed that every single song is there FOUR FUCKING TIMES OVER. Why do you need to have every single mp3 file in there. All its going to do is make people less likely to download it the next time!

pigster - it is in 192kbps, not 64kbps. the sound is rough because some songs are recorded on multiple takes. i wanted it to have a rough sound.
taxidermist - i am NOT using a sequencer. as for the files problem, try looking at imdex's post above. i'll also talk to rudy g and see what is up with it...
ceri jc - thanks for the compliment. :)

Well, I don't see how it could have been a mistake. I clicked on the 'download whole ep' link, and got a zip disk filled with three different bitrates of each mp3 and an ogg file. First off, why do you need to have four different files for one song in one zip file. it makes much more sence just to have links to four different zip files available for download. One for the people who want ogg, and three for the different people out there who want the different kind of bitrates. The point of having 64k and VBR mp3's in there is lost if you are still including the huge 320k mp3's. There is no space being saved, and the bandwidth is still being used.

Sorry to seem pissed about it... its no problem really.
I am kind of pro-hardware right now, so pretty much anybody who uses hardware will get my download (partially because there is so much computer based music right now).
What are you using to make this album?

alright since you asked:
DRUMS: Alesis SR-16 drum machine SYNTHS: Yamaha PortaSound PSS-470 OTHER: Guitar, bell set, v-tech micrphone (now dead for analog exodus was its last appearance), mbira
EFFECTS: Digitech RP7 guitar effects processor
Metamorphosis Waltz is nothing but me playing keyboard through a processor, in ONE sitting. I wrote it while entertaining my niece, no planning just improvisational, and i recorded it while playing for her. listened to it later, and it was awesome. there's a part in there where you hear the cord coming unplugged from the keyboard, that's her accidentally touching it while trying to watch me. i kept it because it fit when i listened afterwards. :)
