So I started a little dnb/jungle roller today, haven't had
a chance to listen through my monitors/sub yet so I'm not
certain if the soundscape is perfect yet.

Anyway, hope you can give me some feedback that'll improve
the track.

impakt - Incessant Terror

i like it a lot

feedback:
-the 'drop' needs to be harder. (one way of doing this would
be perhaps to run the bassline before the drop through like
a highpass filter where the frequency is automated - and
then bypass the filter when the drop occurs)

- the breaks need to be at the same loud volume (run all the
breaks into the same channel and then compress slightly)

- dont really like the bassline in the second half it sounds
very random (make it different to the first and yet good and
solid)

etc.

good track though let me know wen its finished id play it
out!

Makes me want to jump around.

could be quantized a bit tighter methinks, it seems a bit
loose here & there, but fucking hell, what a bassline. oh
man!

(noticed some teebee-ish scratching)

Mighty track!

What I really like in this track is the variation and the
freaky bassline. Lovely break at 3:23, don't change it.

What I didn't like is the Squarepusher voice sample (I don't
know the normal indication) and it sounded a bit chaotic at
some places.

Grinningcat : I'll work some more on the drop indeed, but I
don't really agree about the last bassline, personally I
love it :)

AlbertoBalsalm : I don't really have much online at the
moment, but there's some different stuff over
here

CS2x : Glad to hear you like it :)

Isniezot : you too :)

Vlari : What parts would you like more quantized?

Aesthetics : That voice is from the "think-break", a common
break used by many artists before and after come on my
selector :) But I guess I could use another kick than the
vocal one actually.

What places did you find too chaotic? Give me more details
and I'll look into it :)

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming! I need all the help
I can get.

it think it's mainly with the bassline "hits", especially
when it's, erm, played "faster" and not sustained over
longer measure(? i'm crap at music-tech terms...). it may be
a combination with the loops - i don't know. you're the guy
who makes loads of tunes, I'm just stuck in numerous loops
:)

Haha, I understand what you mean, I think it might be
because the bass stabs are exactly 100% on time while the
drums have some natural/human offset as they're breakbeats.
But I'll try to look into it and see if I can quantize those
parts in general somewhat more :)

btw. that scratching was a nice little detail, yes? :)

i'm glad i'm able to make sense. i'm pretty sure it's the
shuffly breakbeats' fault.

re: the scratch. a nice little detail indeed. i almost
thought it was some out-take from a teebee mix for a minute
:D

must be a bitch for him dragging along that beats and breaks
record everywhere. I guess he'll be anticipating the day
when digital scrathing is perfected. then he can just burn
it on a cdr and stick it along with his other digital
dubplates

Holy shit! Brillllliant stuff you got here. Just make the
intro before the bass a bit shorter and I'd buy it.

that? please say reason...

I think you used a distorted 808 kick drum somehow.....
Tho I'm probably wrong.

I suggest picking up some other impakt releases, they are
very good! Great stuff by far! By far, very well rounded,
the Pantera of unsigned electronic music : )

pretty mental. In all honnesty i'd scrap the whole of the
intro until the kick in and try something new. That's the
only bit i really didnt like. The rest is fantastic though.

opinion. I've liked some other stuff you posted before, just
not this.

Fine tune, maybe a bit too long, and the main break (from
2:00) is to much overwhelmed by the hi-hat sound.

I've liked your noise track more :-).

i read everyone's positive comments and was looking forward
to hearing this. first sound very nice and then:

:|

is that amen break with the voice sample really necessary?

geez...

thank goodness it's all killer afterwards. wow.

sounds remix-y though. a bit bad company ish. but yeah, nice
one.

I had this playing while I was making a sausage sandwich.
Grinningcat is a contrary idiot as most of the replies are.
It was a nice soundtrack to the grill.
