..... to get a refund on air tickets?
Let's imagine I've bought tickets with, say, British airways and about a month before I am due to fly I decide to cancel my flight. Can I get a refund?

I know it's a bit of a weird question to ask........ it's sort of theoretical at the moment. I suppose I'm wondering if anyone on the board has ever cancelled a flight and received a refund?

well, the airline you scheduled your ticket with probly has a whole customer service division dedicated to answering questions like that. Although, after using a piece of technology that has more than 50 keys, I can see how a piece of equipment that has only 12 buttons might seem a bit intimidating.
Probly the main question would be, is it a charter flight or a normal one. Charter ones probly aren't refundable. You have a good ammount of time though. You will probly be able to get a refund without worrying about deductions. Also, it might depend on your reason. As far as I know, its hard to cancel a flight two weeks beforehand, but a month should be fine. Call the airline.

.. yeah as J198 said, I think it depends on your insurance.. you could go through some online insurance form and check the terms and conditions and how much it would be etc.

You should be able to get it refunded but there will probably be a small fee, maybe like £15
