Im not annoying. Your processes are psychologically
channelized by the way in which you anticipate events

since when were you god? and you sound like a teenager who's
just read a book on psychology and is only intelligent
enough to quote it. here's a tip - stop making garbage
quasi-intellectual threads on XLT and go out and experience
stuff.

stupid

blaming god for all the disasters in the world, or blaming
him for not stopping them, is the stupidest thing ever.

i'm not religious, but i know that if i were god, i would
most certainly say 'i gave you this earth to use, and all
you do is abuse, so go fuck yourselves and deal with this
shit if you can'.

But people can ask for forgiveness, can't they?

They are aggrivating in a fun and playfull way. Nearly
anybody can participate and make themselves feel smarter in
the end, because they know they aren't monoid. Its kind of
like a bush discussion in that manner.

It's because he's been here for so long -- I used to stick
up for him, but eventually it just gets too tedious and
repetitive. Also, he's made some of the most whiney
self-piteous self-absorbed threads that XLT has ever known.

sorry, but that's a pretty ignorant question. you must not
know any truly spiritual people?

belief in a higher power can carry people through some of
the most awful shit imagineable, and it cna bring people
together in solidarity, e.g. in the civil rights movement,
in ways no worldly force could, arguably.

i myself don't believe in God as intelligent creator of the
universe or a personalized figure who intervenes in and
directs our lives, but i am definitely down for sharing in a
sense of wonder, awe and appreciation in life with other
people, which is the role i think God plays at best.

my bad.

that's what belief in God's all about though. something to
affirm that life's worth it, even if your own life is really
shitty. the ability to be able to see the bigger picture and
to strive to live meaningfully in the face of loss?

Make sure you have your webcam on at the time.

On a lighter note:

There is no God.
You do not have a soul.
Scientists have been attempting to explain the universe with
the absence of a god since time began and now they have a
pretty strong argument.

Intelligent Design is a stupid unfounded concept as is the
fact that the Earth has only existed for 6,000 years.
Christianity has great teachings but the Bible was written
2000+ years ago it is like trying to run a computer with the
instructions for an abacus.

oops! You seem to have fallen down and written a load of
crap. I'm not saying I believe in god, but I just feel I
should correct you on a few points.

1: it is only recently that scientists have been trying to
"remove" god. all first experiments were conducted on
sundays because they were tributes to god.

2: pretty strong argument.. well.. the opposite sides
argument is equally strong. neither can prove the other
wrong nor can they prove they themselves are right. equally
strong is the argument that nothing exists outside your own
mind, and this would render the two previous arguments..
well.. useless. strong arguments != truth.

I'm not Christian, but if my city were in ruins and I were

I've written a load of crap?

Sience has proved again and again that the Bible is indeed
based on the scientific understanding of the day. I don't
understand why Chiristians insist that it is correct and
will rubbish concepts such as evolution. The book of Genesis
has been seen this way by the Jewish faith for hundreds of
years.

Christianity is the only religion that belives their holy
book is an unchangable and factual description of how things
work. This way of thinking can only be detrimental to people
educated with Christianity in science. Intelligent Design is
completely unfounded.

nah. my dad's a minister, he doesn't believe in the
'stories' within the bible (ark, water from wine, eden) which,
for me, eroded every stigma i had about christianity itself.

he does, as a matter of fact, believe in the ethics within
the bible. "and the moral of the story is (fill in blank)"

There's more Gods than the Judaeo-Christian God you know...
and not all Gods are represented as being Human-Like. Also,
modern science is becoming more like Buddhism daily, rather
than proving the non-existance of 'God', whichever one you
choose. You can repeate that and replace 'God' with 'Soul'.
