hi just doing an essay at the moment, and i'm a bit stuck, i need some referances regarding emotion in electronic music... if you have any links to any articles or good quotes, that would be fantastic.
i'm basically trying to prove that "idm" or whatever you want to call it can be a pure expression of spirit... academic wank.

The best way I could put it, is a lot of people who make IDM have very poor musical education, and usually only stress the technical part of sound design and audio processing. On one hand you have very sophisticated DSP, but on the other hand, most melodies and arrangements are done in a very childish and pure manner, creating a strong cohesion in the music, while creating a dynamic foil of itself.
