yea i can dig the bands you listed... especially the later "punk" meandorings like subhumans, misfits, etc but im for sure a roots oriented person... follow punk back to reggae... the slits for example - excellent stuff as far as lighter punk goes... my favs are... SATB, Pistols, XRS, some of the Damned but now that gets into goth... I could go on and on about how great Christian Death, london after midnight, this ascension, btfbg, back in the day , ahhhhh... many more deserve to be mentioned here ... minor threat... suicidal tendencies perhaps... dead kennedys yup yup, but then we are getting back into that 'skate punk' genre of music... but you know how I feel about genres - fuck em- lots of really good german punk to be found out there... very experimental... and japanese punk - raging! ahhh hell it is all fun and that is the point... AGREED. Im not much into metal... punk, goth, shoegaze, new wave (Blondie- hella yea, she merges into that punk genre out there- I was saw her beat someone w/ Ms. Sioux... hahaha, that was funny... I dunno, Im old... but not in zeee mind... and btw... no one here should dish shit to WISP (reid dunn)... he is a neighbor... he is amazing and extremely prolific... great guy! anyway, more work to do around Trans headquarters... anyone here into good surf rock/punk? classic or contemp? |
