I'm checking out the mixing features. Adjusting the warp
and grid markers, and it's quite tedious. Do I have to do it
for the whole track or only for the sections that i want to
use in the mix?

and is this process improved in v.5?

I've only been using v5 for a short time, but there is some
auto-warp feature.

I'm generally a bit sceptical with auto-features, but it
seems to work well manually; then I can drop the markers as
I please.

especially with what I'm working on now. the tracks are a
bit off, so to speak.

(it's great to have a thread almost for myself...)

Although they're basically the same program I found Live 5 a
lot easier to get into.

The Autowarp works a treat and really makes it easier to do
beatmatches. You just let it scan it then do a quick check
of the file yourself to see if you agree with where it's put
the beat markers etc. I find only a few need adjusting with
most songs. Stuff that doesn't have an easily defined beat
doesn't work well in it. Those you have to really adjust to
get right.

Apart from that. It's cool.

BLAST! I haven't found the OSX version of Live 5 yet, so
I'm stuck with what I got.

The manual beatwarping is great for creating good loops
though, I've used it with my brother(he plays the guitar) to
make some funky stuff

unless they're straight 4x4 tracks the autowarp is shit
..... usually the first marker is off .... but ... manually
it's perfect ...

You guys are rubbish @ helping!

Nah, just joking. I'm figuring the stuff out, and it's quite
easy actually. I might bump this later on, if I'm stuck. But
until then, thanks alot for the replies :)

it's really not that hard to figure out ...

yes the process is better in v.5 .... there's better
alGORythms ... for the warping like the "complex" setting
.... which does make a diiference ...

in 5 you can use other audio files besides wavs ... which is
a fucking boon .... flac, mpg, ogg , etc ...

oh and you dont have to warp the whole track
you could just do bits that you want and set their start
points different

hang on im searching something for you, it's a tutorial of a
few features ...

yeah this one im talking about isn't from the site ... im
blanking out at the moment, but i'll tell you when i find it
...

i love that program ... i get surprised by the many details
it has ... like clicking on the waveform display and moving
the mouse you can zoom in and out ... very quickly .. or
the way you can scan the arrangement by doing the same just
on the arrangement part ..

i still use nuendo as my main sequencer but live is the dogs
bollocks .... i like to rewire live into nuendo ....

anyways chek your email in a moment vlari, ok
