Has anyone replaced one ipod with another on their
computer?

I just got a new and bigger ipod - whatever i do i cant get
itunes to recognise it. It recognised the old one fine, but
not the new one.

Has anyone here ever replaced one ipod with another on their
computer?

Did you have to reinstall itunes? did you lose any of your
music when you did that? Is there an easy way?

I am about to comitt harakiri if i cant sort this out. any
help gratefully received... thanks.

I think you need to go to Advanced -> Deauthorize Computer.

I'm not sure though.

Then when you connect the new one and register it you can
authorize the computer again. I'm not 100% on this.

If you dont succeed with iTunes, you can always give a shot
to unofficial software, like anapod explorer and such. I
mean, given you probably didnt install both iTunes and
anapod with your old ipod, anapod will work with your new
one. Try finding Red chair software online to dload a trial
version of anapod explorer.

Hey, and what about your old one? How big is it? Would you
sell it :) just kidding...dont need it
