Yeah, twelve monkeys and seven did prove he could act well, you're right.
I guess Fight Club was just kind of the turning point for me.
Crap (legends of the fall) -> not bad (seven) -> very good (fight club)

La Jette was so cool because they fit so much drama into such a short amount of time, you come amway with so much more than 12 monkeys in like 1/30th the time.

I also read the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, and it sometimes is really different to the movie... like they didn't steal the fat out of a hospital... they killed Marla's mom... :-)
I really love that movie... it's one of my all-time favorites..

Yeah, I think you're whole sense of time is kind of messed with too (which fits in nice with the subject of the movie), because it's all stills with dialogue overladen. . Could you understand all that whispering that was going on whenever the scientists hooked him up to the time machine? It always bugged me that they never subtitled it. (Guess I should just try and learn French)

I cant remember what the whispering is saying, I saw it about a year ago. Its wicked though, like the original freak ending movie. I would love to see mroe films made with stills instead of actual footage, do you know any others worth watching?

Hmmmm. Well, i don't really know any still films, but there's a film called Baraka that's almost the reverse. It's sort of a documentary about the strange rituals of people in different cultures. There a lot of time lapse photography of busy city intersections shot from above, so you get a sense of how the human "herd" really moves.
It's just another way to mess with you head.
You might also like to watch Angel Dust by Sogo Ishii. If you liked La Jette I can gaurantee you'd love Angel Dust

Yeah Baraka is wicked. Have you seen Latchodrome? (not sure spelling) Similar vein. I would love someone to make a movie like Baraka to some fine electronic music. Autechre in the city and then Boards of Canada while flying over central Africa or something.
