Due to lack of decks I've had a play with Live 5 lately.
It's fun.

Here's the product of tonights twatting around. I didn't
plan the tracks in advance. I just choose them on the fly.
Well apart from the first two anyway. Hope you enjoy it :)

No tracklisting needed because it's all well known stuff.
Oh, the track which some people won't know is Lalo Schifrin
- Jim on the Move. You'll know the rest. Also it'll be a
nice surprise for those who listen.

Thank you for listening if you do.

BAM!

I also have a mix (yes another one! - you all
remember the last one right? right? ho ho ho :/ ) I'd like
some comments on, but nowhere to host. I'm sharing it on
slsk while slsk stays up (three DAYS now! - that's next to
unbelievable) but even there it seems not everyone can get
my files... suggestions? Other than "fuck off loser"?

For an improvisation mix it's very nice, some slight
imperfections in places but acceptable.

The mix really starts to work out well after 15 minutes.

Lovely how you blend in some of the old pop songs,
especially Franky goes to Hollywood vs Gescom and Beasty
Boys vs Aphex is dope!

Very enjoyable spontaneous mix!, why not do a Xlt radio
session this way?
(a sneaky unsolicited application? ;)

Thanks. It's got a little more focus than that one I think.
This one is called "fox's glacier minx meets the council of
ants". I don't know why people can't connect... i'm not
firewalled on that machine. I don't get slsk messages either
for some reason. Well, rarely and very intermittent.

it was violent & disrespectful to the songs.

but it was amazing. right from the start when you introduced
voodoo ray over popcorn. melodies clashed a bit here and
there, but in general the "everything goes" motto worked out
pretty well. i like it alot and I'm going to make some
lack of patience mixes in Live too sometimes.

Ah well. Maybe next time.

Cheers. It was a good fun mix. Kept the attention with
little surprises like the aforementioned Magic Roundabout,
Blondie and Windowlicker popping up unexpectedly. Mixing odd
things together is something I love to hear :) An Excellent
Fuckabout :)
The only (slight) downside really was the noticeable
"skipping warble" effect that changing tempo without pitch
shifting causes.

yeah, I know what you mean. sometimes i plan to use a track,
and I forget about it. i've even forgot to include the track
that inspired me to do the mix in the first place.

that's crap.

I haven't solved that problem with Live yet. This is why I
prefer my decks. I'm sure if I read the manual I'd find the
answer but I can't be bothered to read it. I'm still
impressed by the program. When's your mix ready?

I'll still drop stupid tracks in :D
