I'd read this before on dotmusic but I read it again and
thought I'd quote it becasue its quite funny and I like it
-

"This is, after all, the man [AFX] who's spent most of his
time since the mid '90s running from those who would worship
him. He's declared he's giving up music more times than Mr
Fingers but the more fans proclaim him genius, the more he
messes them about. AFX fans, being perverse buggers, proceed
to then love him even more. It's a laughable situation; one
that James no doubt chuckles about himself, before releasing
limited edition 7" of his own farts (remixed)."

So true...but the fart tracks *do* sound good =)

In the same review for drukqs they guy says -

"He's a one-man brand: 'Druqks' even bares the inscription
"Aphex is a registered trademark of Aphex Systems Limited
and is used by permission (This must be used in same font,
text size etc. as rest of artwork and clearly legible.)"
Well let's hope the world's dotmusic-bearing browsers do you
right Mr Twin, Dadist font size accuracies and all."

A) He couldn't spell Drukqs correctly
B) I don't think he realised RDJ isn't joking, that Aphex
*really* is a trademark for the people who make the Aural
Exciters.

I remember I went on some site where they had the rolling
stone review, followed by a shit load of fan reviews, and
the average score by the fans was 3 1/2.

Oh yeah, it was a women who did that review.

yeah come on... 1 star? If Brittney Spears recorded a
session on the toilet she'd get a higher rating... 1 star is
rediculous...

"Aphex is a registered trademark of Aphex Systems Limited

That bit on the back always makes me laugh...Aphex Systems
lawyers obviously made him put it there (and to fuck em a
little, he took their exact words from the letter and stuck
em on the album)...

Thats the sort of fuckery we love RDJ for...

I've never really been one for critics anyways, most of the
time when the critics really like something, I don't at
all.

And I will say that RDJ's music isn't for everyone.

I have been impressed with The Wire magazine lately...any
body else read it?

I find that most reviewers praise up Aphex Twin... ones that
I've read anyways... and Boards of Canada... Allmusic.com
has given everything by Boards of Canada like at least 4.5
stars... which they deserve of course...
