catholics dislike the christians? obvious typo there. you meant protestants, right? and there we have another example of it - religions divide into denominations, each one feeling superior to the next, and in-fighting (religious in-fighting) begins. although the troubles up north aren't strictly protestants vs catholics, it just turned out that way since protestantism is primarily the denomination of loyalists and catholicism that of nationalists. |

i was watching an interesting debate on HARDtalk on bbc news 24 the other day. they were talking to a gay CofE priest who was planning to marry his partner in 2006. He had some very... forward looking views on christianity - i was quite surprised. |

The problem with catholics (since i feel a bit strong about this) is that they dont read their own book. I grew up catholic for 18 years departed from it and consider myself a christian. Been that way for about 4-5 years. I have seen an interesting debate between a catholic and a protestant. I had no idea what they were talking about sometimes but it was very interesting. |

it occurs to me (in a nutshell): since islam is open to interpretation, and muslims vary in belief and temperament, and muslims include people of numerous races and ethnicities, the choice to "dislike all muslims" is irrational and unsupportable. then again, science has proven absolutely that all racial distinctions are essentially meaningless, we are all far more alike than different, and we all share a common origin. try explaining that to a racist. |
