just a few mins ago wmp crashed with an error message
saying something about my computer clock saying the year is
2114 and wmp recognising that as incorrect, however my
computer clock only goes upto 2099 and even on 2099 wmp
works...how weird, any thoughts?

Don't use Windows Media Player?

It's shit anyway.

Hahaha!

No, I've just had a lot of trouble with it in the past. mp3s
wouldn't play because it couldn't decode them yet it would
play the next one in the folder. After an update the
situation would swap or it would play even less files.
Admittedly I haven't tried the latest version but I'm happy
with Winamp :)

haha oh god

using windows media player to play mp3s?

get real. don't do it... download winamp, or even better,
winamp classic.

using media player for playing videos is barely excusable,
for mp3s it's just stupid....

wmp 10 works fine if you get the strangely titled: K-lite
Codec Pack.

I mainly use wmplayer/quicktime and realplayer alternate
which plays everything and doesn't infiltrate your system
with shit.

what's with australians being clueless when it comes to this
sort of shit?

wmp is incredibly bloated ms bullshit.

winamp for mp3s. quick and easy.
videolan for videos. quick and easy and it comes with all
the codecs.
quicktime and realplayer if you really really have to.
realplayer is an evil piece of software.

im an australian.
mp3 for winamp
divx for videos (videolan.. interesting :) )
and also my winamp has a plugin to play real videos (though
i still need it installed, but its hiding somewhere in some
folder somewhere)...
as for wmp, pfft ! : D

I used to use it all the time for everything. And overtime i
became comfortable with it. Now i must say that WinAmp does
me wonders.

wmp works just fine (mp3 or video). the only problem i see
with it is the system it uses for tagging files. i think it
doesn't use ID3 but some weird database that doesn't alter
the info inside the file itself.
It still organizes your media pretty nice.

and winamp 5 sucks. winamp classic's cool but doesn't have
library. anyway. wmp is just fine.
