Anyone been following the latest series?
If you don't have BBC3, you can watch it online.

You ever seen Noel Fielding do standup? He's playing here for the Brighton Comedy Festival in October and I'm toying with the idea of going. It's tough, because there are so many good comedians coming and I only have so much (and by 'much' I mean 'little') money.
And yeah, the series is great so far. Lots of playfully bizarre stuff.

It's nice to see that little comedy community all doing cameos in one anothers shows.
I think I will go to see him live.
I've not heard their Breezeblock, no. Do you have a copy?

its a good show, the ambience is nice, i love that artificial feel to everything, like an old play or like dracula dead and loving it

The Boosh site on BBC3 has an interview with Julian and Noel in the pub; they talk about working with animators to get the surreal, otherworldly feel of the show.

I've also noticed that many episodes feature a running-on-the-spot back-projection chase scene.
So deliberately cheap, but done with such charm.

It is ok. It is no fucking Nathan Barley or League of Gentlemen. But it is OK. Better than friends. That's about it.

No it's not like Nathan Barley. No it's not like League Of Gentlemen (disappointing film btw).
It's wholly different. And rightly so. I don't want to watch a load of carbon copy comedy series. I enjoy the Boosh because there's very little like it around.
But comparing it to Friends?! That's more than a little harsh.
I do like the way you worded you post as though you were laying down some new commandments for us to live by. As though naming yourself after a comedian makes you an authority on what is and isn't funny! ;)

All i was saying is that if i was gonna start a thread about a comedy show, I would think of a better show than the Shitey Boosh. It's better than My Family as well.

Agreed. Whether something is considered 'hip' or not it needs to be judged on its inherent values and - of course - your own personal taste.
But disliking something because certain other people do? That's a pretty immature way to look at life.

The radio shows must be got hold of, they are really a lot better than the TV series. Its more improvised and lose, there are some hilarious bits on there that don't work so well on screen.
