i used to do sets at my uni night club but u had to do old cheese or alternative so i opened with WAR HUH YEAH into come to daddy and then J5, then rage the motherfuckers were so confused it was brilliant went down really well surprisingly |

well... my first time mixing live was painful... i was mixing my cd collection, but i was distracted for a moment because my friends were filming that party... and sadly enough... i ejected the cd that was playing at the moment... cruel silence filled me up... so i had to start again with the last track... it was Jungle Brothers - Get Down On It... but i made those mad dancers tired... 'cause i was slowly accelerating the mood and tempo... so i ended with some noisy jungle music... GRIDLOK - Drop Zone.... nice! |

that's great melack! i got the same ghetto set up as you. my roomate is a dj/promoter here in vegas so i just hook up my discman into his mixer we have set up in the booth and then we have a studio computer that runs through the mixer as well. so basically i just stop and start tracks, since there is no pitch control. but we always have people over and they all listen to faggy kandy raver trance house breaks crap. they think they listen to some crazy shit... nah, when i spin people would be melting! but they're all really supportive cuz it's sad they never heard shit like that before (aphex and such). anyway as soon as i put on saw vol1 or classics my fuckin roomate always jumps on the tables like WHOA HOLY SHIT keep that goin that's some crazy trance! hahaha |
