errr, why did all the papers say he was a genius giving 4
hour classical recitals? if he was only pressing one note,
you would've thought somebody would've noticed it was total
bollocks.

I always suspected it would be a fake, but had thought more
along the lines of a publicity-whore "artist" doing it to
launch a career on the talk show circuit, rather than a
failed suicide.

yeah, thats pretty fucked too. i guess it was to spice up
the story.

It just illustrates, once again, the bullshit manner in
which the media works. They make out he can play the piano
like a virtuoso, as it makes the story that more exotic,
then when they find out they've been duped, suddenly he can
only play one note, because then that suits the story of him
being a sham.

I like the way the Mirror words it as he "confessed...
that he was a gay German"
Two crimes there for the price
of one.

from the bbc

The man has since written music, which has been verified
as genuine.

Mr Camp added: "It is extraordinary. The first time we took
him down to the piano he played for several hours,
non-stop."

now if the hospital staff enjoyed listening to one note for
4 or 5 hours they must be either really stupid or fans of
avant-garde.

'It was reported that health and social workers said they
were "stunned" when he proceeded to give them a virtuoso
performance.

However, newspaper reports now suggest he was only able to
play one note continuously.'

I don't know what to believe, and frankly, as it is largely
some media created myth anyway, I can't find it within me to
give a fuck. It just further discredits the media, were such
a thing neccessary.

And the Mirror, jesus fuck, what a paper. I guess they're
extra sensitive to being duped after printing those fake
pictures of British soldiers abusing Iraqie prisnors, the
arseholes.

don't believe anything you read in the mirror...
sensationalism gone mad.

Notice how the Mirror uses the word "gay" in a rather
derogatory, negative sense in this article.

Well exactly, why do they have to mention it at all?
Absolute wankers.

Yes, as if wasting thousands of pounds of the taxpayers
money, not to mention hospital staff's time, wasn't enough
of a crime, he compounds it by BEING A HOMOSEXUAL!

probably as opposed to "plagiarised".

it should really be "genuinely his own" or something
similar.

Fucking awesome!

I love how the mirror camera crew mentioned that news
agencies from Germany came. As if trying to say his family
didn't want him BECAUSE HE WAS GAY!

I didn't think the news report was negative towards gays, it
just mentioned the fact that he's gay. They didn't imply
they thought being gay was bad. The mirror is pretty liberal
for a tabloid.

what a pity... just when the world started to become a
little less down-to-earth. how boring. -_-

still, a bit weird that people thought of him as a virtuoso
when he could only play one note repeatedly... and kudos to
him for fooling everyone.
