Went to see him at the Koko in Camden. Let me say this...
This thing i'm about to complain about, i wouldn't normally be complaining about. It just so happened on that night i had tickets to go and see an Arvo Párt choral music recital at the Royal Albert Hall. I get quite pissed off at artists who make the audience wait. So here's a run down of the ridiculousness of the timing of the gig:
7:30 PM: Arrive, doors are supposed to open, but don't 8:00 PM: Doors open 8:05 PM: Realise that there is no support, and Vincent Gallo comes on at 9:30PM
9:30 PM: Waiting a total of over 2 hours for this man, he comes on
10:30 PM: Concert finishes
It was a great concert, spurred me on to getting one of his records. I think his time managment is an utter piece of wank vest. Me and my friend, inevatble, missed the recital.

He's worth a watch, deffinatley. But i dunno. He's a bit of a dick as well. But then that's his character as well, and you pay for it.
Most of the people in the audience were just sucking up to him most of the time, but there were a few true british 'you fucking bastard, but i still love you' crowd members...including myself.

thats gash that you missed arvo part, however, in gallo's defence, it was probably down to poor organisation of the promoter that the doors opened so early and no support act was in place.

tolstoyed: one of the people he was playing with was a pregnant woman, and he said this, to paraphrase:
"that girl over there, i went out with her...i wish the baby was mine, but it's not. she broke my heart. she came round my house and said i kissed another boy, and i said 'we can never talk again'. directly after this incident i wrote a song called 'theresa' (the name of said pregnant girl) about it" and then this pregnant woman plays the bass on a song that's a dreary ode to how much he loves her.
isniezot: he's incredibly indie, very sort of sad and dreary, simplistic, but very good. i reccomend giving his album 'when' a listen.
weaklingchild: yeah i know...it still kind of sucks though

You would not believe gallo's studio. Full of everything vintage. Extremely expensive recording stuffs.

You missed Arvo, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Gallo is pretty good but sheesh. Though I don't think he was the person to blame. Or maybe he was.
