well, after getting the nes and enjoying it, it had the blinking problem, so me and my bro (actually, i like didnt help out at all) but we opened up the nes to replace the 72 pin connector. there were a few problems while replacing it, but now the nintendo doesnt work at all. weve readjusted and we cleaned a game to test it out with and it didnt work.
anyone know what the problem could be and if we have indeed... killed my nintendo

"anyone know what the problem could be"
Yup. You tried to play "mr fix it" and raped your nes in the process.
Buy a dreamcast and burn the emulator disk with like 1000+ nes games on it.

I haven't nothing against nes, it is Nintendo history, i like it. Is useless say.. GameCube has better games and graphics etc.. than nes..

the graphics and games are not the point. for the time it was amazing. for now, the gamecube is kinda average.

you probably left the 72 pin connector hovering before you screwed it down, you have to unscrew it, and shift it about untill its completely flush with the circuit board

The 72 pin connecter could very well be the problem as they go bad in about a decade. You can buy nes's with these connecters already replaced on ebay (that's what I did and it works like new). Also the games are very often the problem. Get q-tips and put rubbing alchohol on them, then scrub the metal connection areas inside the games. This has created like-new games for me time and time again from games that never played (works on genesis, nes, snes, gameboy etc)

Last time I tried my SNES it didn't work -- I have no idea -- it worked fine last time I dusted it off and nothing has been done to it in the interim -- if it really fails to work again I'll be grievously dismayed.

i used to have two nessss'is but now i have one. they both worked fine. the occasional blow into the cartridge and then the deck followed by a hefty whack always sorts out any problems.

yeah. the connector is flush. it might be in the wrong way or something i dunno. maybe we have just raped it, but we cant really see what went wrong.
opening up the nintendo and seeing how it works really proves what a DUMB design it is...
long love nes!!! theyre just bombared with so many classics and awesome titles im saddened to see people are saying the gamecube is better than it (which i reckon only has like, i dunno, 2 worthwhile games?)
