two days, never heard before. i think its really fucking
good. what else do you recommend by her, if people like her
at all?

I'd recommend Bright Red/Tightrope and Strange Angels. She
sings a bit. Apart from The Ugly One With the Jewels, these
are the only ones I have (and Big Science).

thats the track i'm listening to right now! yeah i like it.
i've been warned a lot of it is pretentious, but if you like
idm, chances are that won't bother you.

it's one of those albums that's at the same time quite good
and quite cringeworthy.

I get really tired of the same inflections she uses when she
reads yet another text, it all smacks of wanting to be..
deep and.. interesting.

she also likes to end a sentence on a d or a t - so she can
make it a nice hard sound.

it gets a bit annoying.

if you like "big science" really your best bet would be the
4-disc set "United States Live I-IV". they're live
recordings of a 7-hour perfomance she used to do called
"United States" and all the material on "big science" and a
lot of material from the albums after that are based on that
performance.

I find "US I-IV" to come closest to "big science". there's
some great stuff on there.

i have the record in my crate... i was amazed when i played
it at an artgallery once... and a little girl about 8 years
old came up to me and asked me "is that laurie anderson?"...
i was like... yeah... how'd you know... but it turned out
her mom made her come up to me and ask.

that story started out really well but completely sunk
without a trace towards the end.

Big Science is very good. You should listen to Jean-Michel
Jarre's Zoolook if you like Laurie Anderson. She makes an
appearance on Diva.
