i have very little flacs..perhaps 3 albums in total. i
prefer cds.

flac certainly does suck.

i had this argument with denniscpearse in the last "how much
space does your music take up" thread. i remember it
vividly.

all mp3s baby - i've never had a connection higher than 33,6

it's a waste of space. 256kbit mp3 or, even better, ogg is
just perfect.

don't start. i find advocates lossless-audio codecs simply
insufferable.

You need super human ears like Autechre, then you will find
that 320kbps mp3's make music sound 'quite naff'

Flacs, au, rm, mp3, on my speakers they all sound like
they're being played down the phone anyway.

What are we going to do with this "How much space on your
harddrive is currently taken up by music" survey once all
the information is in? It's fucking fascinating reading so
far.

pie-charts they can come up with!

I wouldn't say the thread got better per se, but it
certainly took an unexpected turn. But then again this is
XLT, where nude ladies hungry to explore their own bodies
with searching tongues, are always just around the corner.

wow some of you have scary amounts of music.

Re: people who have over 30gb. Your tastes are either very
broad (i only really like xltronic, and the odd bit of
indie) or you have delved far too deep into the electronic
world, you nutters!

Not much, I like collecting vinyl. I've got about 300
releases so far. If you have a good setup, it sounds better
than any other format. Team Doyobi's "Choose your own
adventure" is on the decks at the moment. I think artwork
looks better on 12" vinyl anyway. It's always nice to have
the actual wax.
