The first CD I've bought was the Prodigy's single "No Good",
and the first full-length album was Mike Oldfield's "Tubular
Bells II".

The first cd I bought was Utah Saints self titled album

I had an Idea for a little Xlt project a while back, kinda
like a vibes....Do a remix of the first track you ever
bought and bring it up to date using all the influences you
have aquired over the years.

Mine would be - Something Good by Utah Saints

good idea, might go a bit bogey with copyright and all that
though? I'm not sure, I don't make much electronica so i
don't know what it's like when it comes to sampling /
remixing others' music.

Would be a good idea though, nostalgic vibes.. i like it.

Yeah Copyright law would mean we couldnt use it as a vibes,
It would be just a fun thing to do...I could host some of
the results

Anyway I will keep it in mind and maybe start something up
in a few weeks.

my older brother was a dj so from about the age 5 and up i
can remember electro and oldschool rap vinyl all over the
house. my mother also had a knack for buying all and any
vinyl she could find at garage sales and i can remember
falling in love with a "george gershwins greatest hits lp'
she brought home. so i guess that was my first album. my
first cassette was an old almost broken copy of Ice-Ts
'Rhyme Pays' that i found in front of my house... First Cds
were Digital Undergrounds - "Sex Packets," and Bob Marleys -
"Legend" both of which i bought with birthday money.

would relate it to toxicity.

I first heard it in orchestra class in high school. Our
teacher would bring in lots of the wall stuff from his
personal collection like Tibetian Monk chanting or
appelacian yodeling and the like. When I heard 'Time Out' it
was love at first listen.

The Prodigy Experience. At the time, it blew my mind, but
after a year or two I got bored and moved on to SAW II and
Orbital. That was 93/94. I got into 'IDM' by listening to a
lot of rave music as a teen. Is this true of others? Someone
mentioned Utah Saints, and I remember them being a big
favourite of mine when I was young. God knows where they are
now, mind.
