snow leopards are my favorite animal. i am totally
confused, perplexed by their beauty. if youve ever seen
video of one, not only is it rare video, but you get an idea
of their mysterious, awesome nature. just boggles my mind.
check 'em out.

the average lifespan of a snow leopard is 13 or 14 years,
though some have lived to be as long as 20.

the snow leopard is found in the mountainous regions of
central Asia, ranging in the north from Russia and Mongolia
down through China and Tibet into the Himalayan regions of
Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

a snow leopards natural habitat is often just a bunch of
rocky mountains and hills. it lives its entire life in areas
that are not commonly explored by humans because of how
absolutely rocky they are.

that last one is my favorite snow leopard photo, one of my
favorite photos ever actually. i emailed the guy who took it
cause i want a huge version of it but have never received a
response.

the snow leopard is solitary but will sometimes share
hunties duties with its mate.

with larger animals it's common that a snow leopard will
remain close to its kill for over a period of four days
before feeding. it is extremely well built and muscular; it
can bring down an animal two or three times its size.

thankyou cygnus for this thread. i too am a fan of this cat.
I have a excellent b+w picture of one leaping after a
mountain goat on this huge stony mountain. I'll see if i can
dig it out.

snow leopards have been spotted at heights as much as 6000
meters in summer. that is only a few thousand meters short
of mount everest..

these bad mother fuckers can jump 45 feet

snow leopards are entirely harmless to humans.

snow leopards like to sleep.

in my wildest dreams i would actually own a snow leopard but
in reality i will probably at most just see one through a
pair of binoculars.

entirely harmless as is they don't attack or they're not
around enough to be any kind of danger? or are they just
afraid of humans (i doubt that due to their strength)?

beautiful animals, these are.

when i was a small child my grandma used to have a huge
painting of a snow leopard above the couch in her basement
living room. i liked to stare at it on acid.

entirely harmless as in they have never attacked a human
before. there is a picture online of the leader of the
conservation corp. putting an electronic collar on one
without the usage of tranqs or weapons. it was docile.

I have one of these, but much smaller. He likes to roll on
his back so I can rub his belly. :-)
