Haven't heard it but I like each successive Sigur Ros
release more and more so I'm expecting good stuff. If it's
not as good as ( ) I'm going to be like, ''darn''.

Ágætis Byrjun is pretty nice, if a little too long.
( ) is very boring but has some rare good moments. I
thought this new album would just be boring, but it's way
worse than what I expected.

I borrowed Ágætis Byrjun from my friend on Friday. I
haven't listened to the album in a while and it still hits
hard. I'm nuked and waiting for it to finish downloading.

I'm not really a fan of agaetis byrjun, but () is one of my
favourite albums of all time. I heard a few of the new
tracks just under two weeks ago when I saw them live. They
were amazing.

Hotdamn, this is good.

I don't know why I had low expectations, forgive me
sigurros, you rule. Sæglópur is amazing so far... its all
way more noisy than the older stuff in a
overdiven-godspeed-MBV way, just what I like!

Track 4 on their first cd,,,the grey one, is so damn
beautiful I can't even listen to it anymore because when I
try to go to sleep, the haunting melodies creep into my head
and I can't get them out. What a curse!

i enjoy takk, but it sounds more like a collection of songs
than an album. and mostly b-sides, at that. i think they
listened to chinatown by do make say think a bit too much
while making it.

it just doesn't have that keep-you-warm-in-winter sound that
makes ( ) a perfect album to me. but i'm going to keep
listening to it as i think it'll grow (more small minute
details happen in the background than of any other album
i've heard in a long while).

i enjoy this and everything they put out, but after what - 3
albums(?) - their shit sounds like it could be released on
any record in any order and still sound "acclaimed." Can we
say this shit is formulaic now?

I never understood an album as a context. It's just songs
collected together. I never listen to albums in one shot,
anyway. I could care less if a track following another track
makes no sense back to back.

SIgur Ros is one of my favorite bands..i love
them..icelandic music culture is amazing..a fusion btwen
organic sounds,acoustic instruments,electronic beats and
beauty voices creating one of the best music landscapes in
the world..i could also recomend another icelandic band call
"MUM" .

I'm really in love with Andvari at the moment. Only
Sigur Ros would put a repeating two minute string ostinato
slap bang in the middle of a major label rock album.

I havent loved a new album this much in a long time now. Its
absolute genius. I'm in the obsessive stage. My lunch breaks
consist of sitting in the car listening to Takk.

well...I haven't listened to their stuff in quite a while
but I could try and answer this question. I'm not 100%
percent on most of this but I'm pretty sure :). Many of
their lyrics are rather poetic and hard to translate.

Von was all sung in Icelandic.

I think most of Ágætis byrjun was sung in Icelandic. One
of my favourite songs there, Flugufrelsarinn (the Fly
Freer/Saviour), has a kinda silly theme but the lyrics are
still nice. It's about a boy, who makes a ship or a raft to
save some flies from drowning.

All of () was sung in Hopelandic. I can't remember hearing
Icelandic in there. The fact that they started singing in
some made up language kinda made the album a little less
enjoyable for me. I know Jónsi likes to use his voice as an
instrument but i liked having lyrics that meant something
and made some sense. For those who can't understand
Icelandic it probably didn't change that much. (It might
have though, since he sometimes does nothing but to repeat
the same nonsense over and over).

I've only listened to Takk once (I really don't know why, I
liked it from what I can remember, I just kinda forgot about
it). I'm pretty sure that most of it was sung in Icelandic,
since the majority of track titles are in Icelandic. I would
have to listen to it again to tell you what was being sung
on it. Sometimes it's kinda hard to hear wether he's making
any sense or not because he singing is sometimes rather
strange.
