goin to purchase a laptop, needing help on what kinda specs
to run cubase, ableton etc.

I'm only going to be using it for music software and need to
know what kinda size hardrive, memory, soundcard etc and at
what price

yes this thread is really important for me too!!!

now, i'm going for at least 1 gig of ram - that's enoigh for
music software.

then - 1.6 centrino or above or an amd turion like that. not
below!

yeah, i'd say ram memory is one of the most important
aspects.
try and get over 1 ram if you can.

also, obviously you'll need to splash out on a soundcard (an
external one) m audio make really good industry standard
type ones. (they also look particularly cool)

pickin up my powerbook on sunday! yasssss

Ive got a nice setup. I got a PM2ghz with 764 or whatever
RAM. and then rewire cubase with Live and have reaktor
runnign as well. it runs everything fine

i run ableton 4 on it with an m-audio quattro external usb
sound module. it pwnz.

Hey Rudsta I have a Dell lappy but since I'm not a total
geek I couldn't tell you what specsavers it is, even though
I use terms like "lappy".

Its a Dell Inspiron 5160, for 572 quid and it well does
the damage, I got Reason 3 on it too aff dis geeza and it is
well brill!!!!!!!

Yay!

avoid AMD cpu's in laptops since they are loudy (or more
exactly, the fans are loud.... )
