now - i got a really god offer to buy a new for a good price. 1.6 ghz athlon, 1 giga ram. 40 gigs hdd + dvd recorder... what do you think about dell's (of course - music making) |

Good, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired these days if something goes wrong. #Also you need to have it loaded with as fast a precessor and as much ram as possible. |

I heard a story from aguy who used to work for dell cust support, apparently a woman was having probs with her scanner. He was saying, what does it look like... she said well its black, has dell logo on it, etc. And won't scan. After a while or troubleshooting she was actually talking about her monitr and holding pages up to it. Its funnier when he says it. |

so long as it has a pentium m chip in it should be ok. Personally I'd go a thinkpad as they are black and look better with similar specks. |

i've had two centrino dell's the last year. i spilled beer in one, short-circuiting the whole shit including my echo indigo soundcard :(, and the other got stolen. now i have a noname laptop. it's ok, but it makes much more noice then the dells. the dell machines are pretty good imo. i've heard there are few problems with dell laptops. i've also heard that the dell machines are put together by the cheapest crap on the marked. oh, hooters on tv. snoop and 50cent :0 |

Asus laptps are sweet. I got a Z71V and I'm loving it. Great for music. I still need to get a firewire or usb sound interface for recording but the builtin sound is not bad at all and runs at low latency with the ASIO4ALL driver. Dell laptops I wouldn't touch with Tridenti's dick. They suck bad. |
