get chambers of shaolin if u can. pure 8-bit
hip-hopotroniwave of the early nineties, with snare rushes!
would buy it if it were an album.

i advice you the three Donkey Kong Country soundtracks, as
well as the Final Fantasy ones (except for games on Nes, it
sounds awful haha)

I have the music to Zelda64, Yoshi's Island, and Mario64 -
love 'em all... also have lots of MIDI files of SNES games
etc.

the Grim Fandango soundtrack is absolutely brilliant for
easy listening. I love the Mixican rythmns, even if they may
be a little cliched as times.

you can even download it totally free off grimfandango.net -
all 30 tracks which is pretty neat.

here's a taster then :-

$31 for Zelda64 sheet music? What a rip-off... just import
MIDI files into Sibelius, clean it up, and print it off.

METROID Prime & Fusion Original Soundtracks
Nintendo's METROID series was one of the first series to
feature a heroine, the galactic warrior Samus Aran, as well
as more popularity in America than its home country of
Japan. Given the surrounding popularity and hype, it can
almost be said that with METROID PRIME, Kenji Yamamoto
created a modern masterpiece. With no memory restrictions on
a cartridge based-system, Yamamoto churns a high-quality,
crisp orchestration for the game's score, which is probably
best described as hybrid. It's eerie, atmospheric, driving,
occasionally rollicking, sometimes bizarre... and of
super-high quality.

I love both them like music and like game style: metroid
prime and metroid prime 2 echoes. Naturally i have both the
soundtacks on cds.

This site has .nsf files of many games, and it also has
a nsf plugin for winamp, so you can play them.

PWNT?

Yeah game soundtracks are great. I was just listening to
Akira Yamaoka last night, always among the best music I've
ever heard, ''video game'' qualifier or not.

metroid prime 2's soundtrack is far too repetitive.

twin cobra on NES is probably my fav of all time
