I haven't heard a lot of Flashbulbs music, but what I heard always reminded me of other Eye Dee Emm artists.
so I would say squarepusher is the better one.

it's sad only topics like 'tri dentitae' get responses!
what the hell is wrong with xltronic.....
Flashbulb is a million times better than sqp btw It's only because of the big W. why sqp is famous like this.

heh yeah, i thought i'd make this 'normal' music-discussion thread about squarepusher and a 'nonsense' one about tridenti,
and it shows which threads are more popular :)

crazone / tftp; the man plays the piano and guitar very well, i just got hold of Kirlian Selections, it's really good,
somewhere i read about it; "...blending his most abrasive extremes with subtle and genius melody compositions and a giant list of live instrument performances."
his albums are really worthwhile to check out, at least he delivers quality on the whole album. imo squarepusher's albums all got some great tracks and a lot of filler
anyways, i'd recommend 'red extensions of me' and 'kirlian selections'

Whatever The Flashbulb has accomplished, he is still working upon the unprecedented foundation laid by Squarepusher. Drill n bass is Squarepusher's genre.

omg it's not because you cna play a bunch of instruments live that you are a true artist, besides i don't think it's a good idea, he should maybe totally master one or two of them
as someone said, find me a track that can rival things like : tundra, come on my selector, port rombhus, tetra sync, do you know squarepusher, etc etc
they are massive classics, the flashbulb still need ONE track like that to begin to really impress me
no hard feeling, i like his music and think he's got talent, but he's nowhere near squarepusher in terms of musicality and creativity imo

It's hilarious to think that The Flashbulb even touches the Pusher in my opinion. Tom's compositional and beat-programming talents are just ... lightyears ahead. He's got the goods.
Flashbulb is okay, but nothing special. Sounds like dated Squarepusher without the good melodies, mostly. He's got a few nice tunes, though.

Didn't he post on WATMM a lot? He was quite a character.
I like his music OK, can't touch Squarepusher. I usually know a SP track is an SP track as soon as I hear it, not so with FB. But it's pretty good, not different but pretty well done. I remember way back in 2001 when Drukqs leaked, I had a couple of what-turned-out-tb-be Flashbulb tracks mixed in with the real ones, and they were pretty cool.

he used to post over at the mu-board.
and people would say things like "what Flashbulb does is derivative" and he would just log in to completely fly off the handle and pretty much embarrass himself.
