Fireworks Entertainment and Goodman Rosen Productions, the duo behind such hit syndicated shows as "Relic Hunter" and "Andromeda," have acquired the TV and film rights to the Nintendo 64 sci-fi shooter "Perfect Dark." Variety reports a show chronicling the adventures of secret agent Joanna Dark as she tries to prevent an alien invasion of the Earth, circa 2023, could launch as early as fall 2002, and a feature film is also in development.
WOW! For anyone who has enjoyed this great game this is excellent news. And for the people who haven't played the game well you have a great movie/TV series to look forward to!

GOLDENEYE WAS THE FUCKING GAME OF THE 90's.
And I think Half Life would make a wicked game. it all depends of how its done and the game.

010101 you are so right! Do you remember what a shit film Street Fighter was??? Goldeneye was an excellent game on the N64, it was one of my favourites. In fact, I really enjoy James Bond Agent Under Fire on PS2 - that too, is amazing!!

I loved playing Mario Kart on the SNES. ahhh, there's nothing like sitting around with your mates playing multiplayer on a console. PC's are harder cos you can't get loads together unless you are lucky and over the net it sometimes loses the fun.

I bought "Perfect Dark",and was bowled over with it.However, making a television show, will,IMO,be a bad move.It just wouldn't work. Obviously, there are a few exceptions, but i think everyone should steer well clear. Also.i believe fans of "Half Life" have been approached to voice their opinions on a "movie".Bah.(go to www.planethalflife.com).It's in there somewhere! }:>

B3n: I'm reasonable with throwing knives, I lost by favourite one in some undergrowth when I missed a tree I was aiming at. I got a replacement that was the same make (some Spanish brand beginning with "A" something like Astoria), but one size down.

O.K. I had forgotten about Goldeneye. Are there any others?
I think the problem with the translation is that interactive narative in computer games is very different than that of film, in that you have to begin a learning curve in a game. The plot and charictors become likeable as you get into the game.
A good example of this is Tomb Raider, Lara Croft is a sexy Indiana Jones and I don't think the games would have been as good if they had attempted to explore her charictor. The film lacked any real plot or substance because her charictor was shallow.

Can't say that Timesplitters 2 is a game that says 'buy me'!! Although the graphics were far superiour to that of Goldeneye and PErfect Dark, I wasn't that impressed with the handling of the game. And I thought multiplayer mode was horrific! Whether or not the second version will be better I don't know! I'd probably rent it from the local video store first rather than just buy it!
