yes, only being silly. :)

I don't know, I don't think phobia would appreciate it very
much if we started trading warez on his mb, but you should
be able to find a torrent here or there (torrentspy.com
maybe).

e-donkey also might turn up some results.

torrents are easy

download bittorrent

find a torrentpage like torrentspy, click download link and
open the .torrent file with bittorrent. within a few minutes
you should have a download going (provided there are
seeders).

torrents seem complicated, but aren't really.

you'll need a torrent client, the one I use is
Azureus but there are a lot to choose from.

the basic idea of torrents is that you don't download files
peer-to-peer, like one on one, but you grab bits and pieces
from different users. not just from people who have the
complete file (seeders), but also other people who are also
downloading the same file (leechers). overall this makes
that the whole thing goes a lot faster than p2p.

all this activity is synchronised by one main server (the
tracker). you go to a torrent site and download the torrent
file. this is just a marker that the tracker uses to know
who has which file. you download this torrent and open it in
your torrent client. if all goes well, the download will
start.

while you're at it, also download Peerguardian 2, which you
run while you're downloading. it attempts to shield you from
nosy companies and things like the RIAA 'n stuff.

As for clients i'd recommend ABC. Easy to use,
and simplier than Azureus (which is based on java), and also
Torrent spy which shows you the number of seed/peers
before you start the download.

all I know about them is it's some way to directly connect
to various hosts simultaneously while also being a host
yourself. in other words, there are "seed(er)s" which are
people that have 100% of the file, and are allowing others
to download from them. "leachers" are those who are
downloading from the seeds. Say you have 30% of whatever
file it is you want, anyone with the same torrent file
(which is somewhat like an address) can download up to 30%
of that file from you.
