The theme for The X Files is really awesome - it has some
amount of depth and a haunting quality which is very
touching!

Also, The Littlest Hobo, the mid 80s Grange Hill, Ulysses31
and Prisoner: Cell Block H!

All-time favorite is Astroboy, the North American version
with the rippin' guitar solo.

And the CBC Hockey Night in Canada theme. I'll finally be
able to hear it again in October.

Twin Peaks - great choice. I always enjoyed the muted music
at the beginning of Porridge, and I also love the Red Dwarf
music.

'are you being served' is a quality tune!! The brass
melody is soo perfectly made! I made that sound and shot my
hot white shame on the carpet the other day.

THERE ONCE WAS A WEALTHY MAN
WHO HAD A WONDERFUL IDEA
TO BRING CHILDREN FROM ALL PLACES
WITH ALL KINDS OF FACES
TOGETHER INTO A SAILING SHIP
THERE WERE FORTY BOYS AND GIRLS
THEY WOULD SAIL THE SHIP AROUND THE GLOBE
SO THEY CALLED IT... THE UNITED WORLD

THE SHIP WAS JUST THREE WEEKS FROM SHORE
WHEN A HURRICANE POURED DOWN
THE WAVES WERE AS BIG AS MOUNTAINS
THEY FELT THEY WOULD SURELY DROWN
THEY JUMPED INTO A LIFEBOAT
AND ROWED AWAY FROM THE WRECK
THEY DIDN'T COUNT THEM
THEY HADN'T TIME
FIVE CHILDREN WERE LEFT BEHIND

and also the theme from Monkey!

I'm humming it now though! It's at least 160 bpm. played
half speed with muted trumpets/trombones. It's one of my
favourite sounds! Plus when you expect the melody to
resolve, it's 5 keys off, not a fifth, a 'wrong note' that
sounds right.

a-team is a classic, as is the simpsons [im really surprised
im the first to mention it]

also, futurama and aqua teen hungerforce have great themes,
albeit short. has anyone heard the acapella verion of the
futurama theme that was featured in an episode? it was so
hot, it sounded like rahzel to me, but im not really sure.

I love the Doctor Who theme, especially Orbital's version of
it. Oh, and the soft trance version of the X-Files theme
which was used for the first three season's to be broadcast
in Germany was made by none other than Robert Miles!

I love the X-Files, so much so that I consider myself an
X-Phile :)

great thread.

it hits me in the heart strings every time.
